All these forms of birth control release hormones that can interfere with the testing results and the fertility medications used during the egg donation process. Hence, it’s important that you stop or remove them before you are accepted into an egg donation program.
Consult your fertility clinic to know the forms of birth control that are allowed. If you are unsure whether you can change. If you cannot remove the form of contraception, you are not a suitable candidate for egg donation.
6. Do you see your menstrual period every 21 to 35 days when you are not on hormonal birth control?
Your periods have to be regular and normal to participate in our egg donation program.
The reason is that irregularities in menstrual cycle length can be a sign that your ovaries are not working properly. Prospective donors are required to undergo comprehensive testing to examine their ovulatory function. And we turned down any applicant found to have abnormalities in their menstrual cycle. So, if you have irregular menstrual periods, then you may not be a good fit for egg donation.
