I have a specific medical condition — can I still donate?

If you meet Lucina’s initial qualifications, your eligibility will be assessed through comprehensive medical and genetic screening. Each case is evaluated individually by our clinical team to determine whether donation is medically safe for you.

What medical or genetic conditions can disqualify me from donating?

Disqualifying conditions include:

  • Active pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • BMI above the accepted limit
  • Failure to pass medical, genetic, or psychological screening

Certain heritable or infectious diseases
Only about 5% of applicants meet all screening criteria to ensure the highest safety standards.

What are the BMI and health requirements for donors?

Your Body Mass Index (BMI) must be below 28 to ensure healthy ovarian response and overall safety during stimulation. You must also be in good physical and mental health and live a healthy lifestyle.

What is the eligible age range to donate?

You must be between 19 and 31 to donate. This age range helps ensure the highest egg quality and the best chance of success for the recipient, in line with ASRM guidelines.
