Every donor completes a psychological evaluation before being accepted. Beyond that, Lucina’s team provides clear, compassionate guidance throughout your journey, ensuring you feel supported, informed, and confident at every step.

You may donate up to six times in your lifetime, following ASRM guidelines. Most donors complete around three cycles per year, with at least two menstrual cycles or two months between each. Your doctor will help determine a safe timeline tailored to your health and recovery.

Compensation is provided directly at the time of egg retrieval. Donors are paid in full before leaving the clinic, typically between $8,000 and $15,000 per cycle. Lucina ensures you have no out-of-pocket expenses and offers generous rewards for successful referrals.

All donors travel to Lucina’s San Diego clinic for the egg retrieval.

• Domestic donors typically stay 7–9 days, with local monitoring appointments before travel.
• International donors usually stay 18–21 days to complete the full cycle.

All travel costs are paid in advance, and you’ll receive detailed guidance and coordination before your trip.

Lucina covers 100% of your travel and lodging expenses for the retrieval trip. Our travel team arranges your flights, hotel stay, and transportation, so you can focus on your comfort and health without worrying about logistics or cost.

Donors never pay for any part of the medical process. All medical testing, medications, monitoring, retrieval, and follow-up care are paid for entirely by Lucina. If you ever incur a related cost out of pocket, you’ll be fully reimbursed upon submitting a receipt.
