Are donors eligible if they are international? What is the typical timeline?

Lucina proudly welcomes international donors. You’ll travel once to San Diego for your retrieval, staying approximately 18–21 days to complete the full donation process.

All arrangements and expenses are covered by Lucina, including travel coordination and accommodation.

Can donors be compensated for travel time or lost wages?

All travel, lodging, and related costs are fully paid by Lucina upfront. The standard donor compensation ($8,000–$15,000 per cycle) is designed to generously recognize your time and commitment.

If needed, we can also provide a physician’s note for school or work absences during recovery.

Who performs the medical procedures, and where are they performed?

All procedures, including the egg retrieval, are performed by Lucina’s highly experienced fertility specialists in our state-of-the-art San Diego clinic. Our facilities adhere to FDA and ASRM guidelines to ensure optimal safety and comfort.

Do you provide post-procedure medical follow-up?

Lucina’s care continues after your retrieval. Your Egg Donation and IVF Coordinators maintain close contact during the week following your procedure to ensure you recover comfortably and have access to any medical care you may need. You are never alone in your recovery process.

Are donors’ records and identities kept confidential? How is privacy handled?

Donor confidentiality is a core principle at Lucina. All donations are strictly anonymous, and there is no exchange of identifying information between donors and intended parents. You’ll sign an agreement protecting your privacy under federal and program-specific confidentiality standards.
